Delta Community cries for help as herdsmen resume attack

UGHELLI -Uwheru community in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State has called for assistance from the state and federal government over an alleged renewed attack on them by suspected Fulani herdsmen in the area.
According to the president general of the community, Mr Cassidy Akpedafe, “They have resumed their attack on our people, raping, killing, barricading of roads, armed robbery, and kidnappings.
“We as a community are pleading with the state and federal government to urgently come to our aide because as an agrarian community, we are been deprived from farming and means of livelihood.
“This problem is beyond our control and we are appealing for all necessary assistant from the government to remove this evil people from our land.
“These communities, Ohoror, Agadama,  Owarovwo, Oreba, and Ovwriche, Ovwororo, Avwon, Oguname and others are under siege by herdsmen.
“We are yet recover from the flood that took over our homes and farmlands before the herdsmen are declaring war on us”.
Akpedafe in his appeal said, “I want to call on President Muhammadu Buhari, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa and the member representing Ughelli North constituency II, our Senator and House Representatives to urgently map out strategies to help Uwheru community from the siege of herdsmen”.
